Recipe: Apple Crisp
No fall dinner party is complete with out a cozy dessert! Apple crisp is always a fan favourite. Warm apples, crispy granola and topped with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream, is your mouth watering yet?
4 lb paula red apples
2 tbsp cinnamon
1 1/2 cup coconut sugar
3/4 cup honey oats (we used nature valley)
1 cup cold butter
1/2 cup flour
Preheat oven to 425°f.
Grease baking dish or pan in a layer of butter.
Peel apples, remove core, cut in half and slice into 1/4 inch pieces.
Toss apples in 1 tbsp cinnamon and 1/2 cup of coconut sugar.
Place apples in baking dish and set aside.
*note* you can make individual sized crisps by using ramekins
In a separate bowl, combine honey oats, flour, 1 cup coconut sugar, and 1 tbsp cinnamon.
Use pastry cutter or two forks to mash the cold butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Spread over the apples in baking dish.
Pat topping until even.
Bake in oven for about 40 minutes, or until golden brown.
